Hello! I’m Franchesca Cortés,
I’m a bilingual (English & Spanish) multidisciplinary UX Researcher with over 2 years of qualitative research experience contributing to two EdTech startups, a B2C tech company, and the philanthropic branch of an international finance group.
In addition, I have over 5 years of professional experience in strategic communications and language instruction, which have contributed greatly to my effective communication and strategic thinking as a UX Researcher.
All in all, I have over 6 years of experience researching, storytelling, and problem-solving to create experiences that enhance the lives of customers and users. Through my qualitative research, I have strategically informed many user-centered business and design decisions and am constantly motivated by ensuring the voices of users shine through everything I do.

Book Software Evaluative Research
As a UX Researcher, and under the mentorship of Michele Ronsen as part of the Curiosity Tank UX Research program, I conducted an evaluative research study for Blurb’s software design tool, BookWright, conducting usability tests with prospective customers.

Student Website Research & Design
I collaborated with a team of UX designers on this evaluative study to conduct and apply findings from 2 rounds of usability testing, resulting in design iterations, ensuring high-quality in accessibility and inclusivity.
Teacher Portal Evaluative Research & Design (Phase 2)
As a result of generative research with teachers, I advocated for and spearheaded the creation of and the evaluative research for the teacher portal, making the use of the student website in schools more accessible.
